The basics of odontology were acquired around the
year 1888, where it was created as a branch of medicine, calling it
"Dentistry School." At first, the race lasted only two years, he was
taught by doctors and was in charge of the University of Chile.
In the late nineteenth century, the director of the
School of Dentistry was Basterrica Dr. Germán Valenzuela, who was a doctor who
had been sent by the government to specialize as a dentist in Paris.

1909 with the "Becker Case" where a confused assassination led to
conflict between the government of Chile and Germany. His dental knowledge led
him to clean up the image of the country and show a new way to identify bodies

that President Pedro Montt quoted to compensate for the great job serving his
country, Dr. Valenzuela asked to create the first modern Dental School, badly
needed in the country and to share their knowledge acquired in Paris
